As we continue our series celebrating Osstell’s 25th anniversary, we turn our spotlight to one of our most dedicated employees, Liselott Fornell, who has been with the company since 2007. Her journey with Osstell is both inspiring and full of lessons, as she has witnessed the company’s growth and transformation through various ownership structures, challenges, and opportunities.
An unexpected start
Liselott’s journey at Osstell began through a friend of a friend, a chance connection that led her from Bergstrands coffee to us. Through her high flexibility, Liselott ensured a smooth transition from her previous employer. This start and finish clearly demonstrated what a dedicated employee Liselott is. She always strives to meet the diverse needs of all concerned parties.
From local economy to global challenges
When Liselott started, Osstell had just become part of Biolin, a global company that was also publicly listed. It was a period of intense deadlines and strict accounting work, something that Liselott, alone with Osstell’s finances, managed with support from Biolin’s finance team. When Fouriertransform bought Osstell, it became an even tougher time as she was solely responsible for the finances, with Fouriertransform lacking a supportive finance team. “It felt a bit like being a nurse but expected to perform surgery,” says Liselott, adding that several consultants were later hired for support.
Support and collaboration through changes
In 2016, Per-Olof Lundgren, Peo, was hired as CFO, bringing more resources to the finance department. Two years later, Osstell was acquired by W&H, an Austrian family-owned company, and Liselott supported the entire acquisition process. Transitioning from being part of a publicly listed company to a family-owned business meant a change in the work environment. Currently, we are in an implementation project with a new ERP system, Infor LN, which will facilitate and integrate Osstell more with W&H’s systems.
HR and personal development
In addition to accounting, Liselott has always had an interest in HR and a desire to further develop in the area. In the early years, she also handled payroll, but this was later outsourced. Today, she spends part of her working hours supporting managers and employees with HR-related issues. Recently, Liselott has reduced her working hours to study psychology one day a week. She hopes to utilise this to further develop in her current role.
Flexibility and work environment
A significant change for Liselott was when the company relocated. The longer commute was compensated by better environmental friendliness and the flexibility to work from home. At Osstell, she has had this opportunity long before the pandemic, showcasing the company’s forward-thinking and adaptability.
Liselott – more than just finance
Liselott is a person with many talents. She is passionate about meditation, dance, music, and nature – interests that give her energy and balance. Her journey towards becoming a psychosynthesis therapist has been inspired by her own development and passion for helping others. Liselott’s story is a testament to the fact that it is possible to grow and develop, regardless of age and previous experiences. She has navigated Osstell through various ownership structures and challenges, always with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things.
By highlighting Liselott’s contributions and journey within the company, we celebrate not just Osstell’s 25 years, but also the people who have made it possible. Thank you, Liselott, for your tireless effort and your inspiring story.
